United Auto Film Limited Warranty

Thank you for choosing United Auto Film. We stand behind the quality and durability of every product we distribute. This document outlines the terms and conditions of our Limited Manufacturer Warranty, which covers United Auto Film branded window film and paint protection film (PPF) products against manufacturing defects when properly installed and registered.

This warranty is provided by United Auto Film to the original purchaser of the vehicle on which the film was installed, subject to the terms, conditions, and limitations described herein.

SECTION 1

How Our Warranty Works

Our warranty program is designed to be straightforward for both installers and vehicle owners. Coverage is activated through a simple three-step process:

Step 1 — Professional Installation. All United Auto Film products must be installed by a professional window film installer or authorized United Auto Film dealer. Proper surface preparation, application technique, and curing are critical to product performance and are prerequisites for warranty eligibility.

Step 2 — Warranty Card Registration. At the time of installation, the installer completes and submits an official United Auto Film Warranty Card. This card captures vehicle information, product details, installer credentials, and the date of installation. Registration must be completed within thirty (30) days of the installation date.

Step 3 — Coverage Activated. Once the warranty card has been submitted and confirmed, the installation is covered under the applicable warranty terms for the specific product series installed. A unique Warranty ID is assigned and serves as the reference for all future warranty matters.

Warranty coverage begins on the date of installation as recorded on the warranty card. Installations that are not registered within the required timeframe may not be eligible for warranty coverage.

SECTION 4

What Is Covered

United Auto Film warrants to the original registered owner that, when properly installed by a professional installer and registered through an official United Auto Film Warranty Card, the film product will be free from manufacturing defects for the duration of the applicable warranty period.

Window Film Coverage

For window tint and ceramic film products, this warranty covers the following manufacturing defects:

  • Peeling or lifting of the film from the glass surface under normal conditions
  • Bubbling that develops after the standard curing period (typically 30 days post-installation)
  • Cracking or splitting of the film not caused by external impact or stress
  • Delamination between internal film layers
  • Adhesive failure resulting in film separation from glass
  • Excessive color fading, discoloration, or purple-shifting beyond what is expected for the product type and warranty period

Paint Protection Film (PPF) Coverage

For PPF products, this warranty covers the following manufacturing defects:

  • Peeling or lifting from the painted surface under normal conditions
  • Bubbling that develops after the standard curing period
  • Cracking or splitting of the film not caused by external impact
  • Delamination between film layers or from the clear coat
  • Adhesive failure resulting in film separation
  • Excessive yellowing or discoloration beyond reasonable expectations for the product’s warranty period
  • Failure of self-healing properties (where applicable to the specific product line) under normal conditions

Warranty Remedy

If a manufacturing defect is confirmed through United Auto Film’s verification process, United Auto Film will provide replacement film for the affected area(s) at no charge for the product. Replacement film will be of equivalent type and grade. Labor costs for removal and reinstallation are the responsibility of the installer.

SECTION 5

What Is Not Covered

This limited warranty does not extend to any condition, damage, or failure resulting from the following. These exclusions apply to all product categories:

Installation-Related Exclusions

  • Improper, unprofessional, or unauthorized installation
  • Installation by an individual or shop not recognized as a professional film installer
  • Contamination trapped during installation (dust, debris, moisture)
  • Damage caused during or as a result of film removal

Damage & External Causes

  • Physical damage, abuse, vandalism, or intentional misuse
  • Damage resulting from accidents, collisions, or vehicular incidents
  • Scratches, chips, or abrasions caused by external objects, including but not limited to keys, rings, ice scrapers, or automated car wash brushes
  • Rock chips, road debris impacts, or gravel penetration (for PPF: the film is designed to absorb these impacts and protect the paint; damage to the film itself from such impacts is not a defect)
  • Damage caused by chemical exposure, including but not limited to harsh solvents, petroleum-based products, acidic or alkaline substances, and ammonia-based cleaners
  • Damage from power washing at close range or high-pressure water application during the curing period

Environmental & Wear Exclusions

  • Normal wear and aging consistent with the product’s expected lifespan
  • Environmental exposure including but not limited to prolonged UV radiation, extreme heat, salt air, industrial fallout, tree sap, bird droppings, or insect residue when not cleaned in a timely manner
  • Fading or discoloration that falls within the expected parameters for the specific product type and age

PPF-Specific Exclusions

  • Pre-existing paint defects, rust, corrosion, or substandard paint conditions present at the time of installation
  • Paint damage revealed upon film removal that existed prior to installation
  • Staining or discoloration of the film caused by aftermarket coatings, waxes, or sealants not approved for use with PPF
  • Edge lifting in areas where the film was trimmed short of the panel edge by design or installer preference

Administrative Exclusions

  • Labor costs for removal and reinstallation, unless covered by a separate installer agreement
  • Any installation not registered with a valid United Auto Film Warranty Card within the required timeframe
  • Products purchased through unauthorized distribution channels or secondary markets
  • Consequential or incidental damages of any kind, including but not limited to vehicle downtime, rental car costs, or diminished resale value

SECTION 6

Warranty Registration

Warranty activation requires proper registration using an official United Auto Film Warranty Card. Registration is the responsibility of the installing dealer and must be completed within thirty (30) days of installation.

Registration Requirements

Each warranty registration captures the following information:

  • Unique Warranty ID (system-generated upon registration confirmation)
  • Installer or authorized dealer name, business address, and contact information
  • Vehicle information including year, make, model, VIN, and license plate (where applicable)
  • Product(s) installed, including product series name and film shade/thickness
  • Installation date and areas of the vehicle where film was applied
  • Customer name and contact information

Important: Vehicle owners should retain their warranty card or a copy of the warranty registration confirmation as proof of coverage. United Auto Film is not responsible for claims submitted without valid registration documentation.

SECTION 7

How to Submit a Warranty Claim — Vehicle Owners

If you believe your United Auto Film product has a manufacturing defect covered under this warranty, follow the process below:

Step 1: Contact Your Installing Dealer. Reach out to the professional installer or authorized dealer who performed your original installation. They are your primary point of contact for warranty matters and can perform an initial assessment of the issue.

Step 2: Provide Your Warranty Card or Registration ID. Present your warranty card or provide the unique Warranty ID issued at the time of registration. This is required to verify your coverage status and installation details.

Step 3: Document the Issue. Provide clear photographs of the affected area, including close-up images that show the defect and wider shots that show the defect in context on the vehicle. Include the date the issue was first noticed.

Step 4: Installer Submits Claim on Your Behalf. Your installer will evaluate the issue and, if they determine it is a manufacturing defect, submit a formal warranty claim to United Auto Film on your behalf. See Section 8 for the installer claim submission process.

SECTION 8

Installer Warranty Claim Submission Process

This section outlines the process for professional installers and authorized dealers to submit warranty claims to United Auto Film. Installers serve as the primary point of contact between the vehicle owner and United Auto Film for all warranty matters. Only registered installers or authorized dealers may submit warranty claims.

Installer Eligibility

To submit a warranty claim, the installer must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be recognized as a professional installer or authorized United Auto Film dealer with an active account
  • Must have been the installer of record on the original warranty registration for the vehicle in question, or be an authorized dealer designated by United Auto Film to service the claim
  • Must have a current and valid business license for automotive window film or PPF installation services

Claim Submission Steps

Installers should follow this process to submit a warranty claim to United Auto Film:

Step 1: Inspect the Installation. Conduct an in-person inspection of the affected film. Assess whether the issue is consistent with a manufacturing defect (as defined in Section 4) or whether it falls under an exclusion (as defined in Section 5). Do not submit a claim for issues that are clearly caused by damage, improper care, or normal wear.

Step 2: Document the Defect. Capture the following documentation before contacting United Auto Film:

  • Clear, high-resolution photographs of the defect — include at least one close-up image showing the specific issue and one wider shot showing the affected area on the vehicle
  • Photographs of the full vehicle showing the VIN-visible area (dashboard or door jamb) to confirm vehicle identity
  • A written description of the defect, including when the customer first reported it, the location on the vehicle, and the installer’s professional assessment of the cause
  • The original Warranty ID or warranty card number associated with the installation

Step 3: Submit the Claim. Email the complete claim package to support@unitedautofilm.com with the subject line formatted as: “Warranty Claim — [Warranty ID] — [Installer Business Name].” The submission must include:

  • Warranty ID or registration number
  • Installer business name, contact name, and phone number
  • Customer name (as registered on the warranty card)
  • Vehicle year, make, model, and VIN
  • Product series and shade/thickness installed
  • Original installation date
  • Date the defect was reported by the customer
  • Description of defect and installer’s assessment
  • All photographs described in Step 2
  • Confirmation that the installer has inspected the vehicle in person

Step 4: United Auto Film Review. Upon receipt of a complete claim submission, United Auto Film will review the documentation and respond within five (5) business days. United Auto Film may:

  • Approve the claim and authorize replacement film to be shipped to the installer
  • Request additional photographs, documentation, or clarification before making a determination
  • Require the vehicle to be presented for inspection at the installer’s shop or at a location designated by United Auto Film
  • Deny the claim with a written explanation if the issue does not fall within the scope of warranty coverage

Step 5: Replacement Fulfillment. If the claim is approved, United Auto Film will ship replacement film of equivalent type and grade to the installer at no charge for the product. The installer is responsible for scheduling and performing the reinstallation. Labor costs are the responsibility of the vehicle owner unless a separate labor coverage agreement exists between the installer and United Auto Film.

Incomplete or Fraudulent Claims

Claims submitted without the required documentation will be held pending until all materials are received. United Auto Film reserves the right to deny or revoke warranty coverage in cases where fraudulent, misleading, or materially inaccurate information is provided in a claim submission. Repeated submission of fraudulent claims may result in suspension or termination of the installer’s authorized dealer status.

Installer Claim Support: For questions about the claim process, documentation requirements, or claim status, installers may contact the United Auto Film warranty team at support@unitedautofilm.com or call during business hours.

SECTION 9

Warranty Transferability

The United Auto Film Limited Warranty is associated with the owner of the vehicle on which the film was originally installed. If the vehicle is sold or transferred to a new owner during the active warranty period, warranty coverage will not transfer to the new owner.

Warranty coverage does not transfer if the film is removed and reinstalled on a different vehicle.

SECTION 10

Care and Maintenance Guidelines

Proper care and maintenance are essential to preserving your film’s appearance, performance, and warranty eligibility. Failure to follow these guidelines may void warranty coverage.

Immediately After Installation (Curing Period)

  • Do not wash the vehicle or expose the film to water for a minimum of 3 to 7 days after installation, depending on weather conditions. Your installer will advise on the specific curing time.
  • Do not roll down windows with newly installed film for at least 3 to 5 days.
  • Small water bubbles or haze may appear during the curing process — this is normal and will dissipate as the adhesive dries.
  • Do not attempt to push out bubbles or touch the film surface during the curing period.

Ongoing Care — Window Film

  • Clean with a soft microfiber cloth and a mild, ammonia-free glass cleaner.
  • Do not use abrasive pads, razor blades, or harsh scrubbing tools on filmed surfaces.
  • Avoid ammonia-based cleaning products (e.g., Windex Original) as they can degrade adhesive and cause discoloration.
  • Avoid applying stickers, suction cups, or adhesive-backed accessories directly to the film.

Ongoing Care — Paint Protection Film

  • Wash regularly using a pH-neutral car wash soap and a soft wash mitt.
  • Avoid automated car washes with abrasive brushes. Touchless washes are acceptable.
  • Remove bird droppings, tree sap, bug residue, and other contaminants promptly to prevent staining.
  • If using ceramic coatings or sealants over PPF, confirm the product is PPF-compatible before application.
  • Do not use petroleum-based dressings or solvent-based products on PPF edges.
  • For self-healing films, minor surface scratches can be removed by applying warm water or brief heat (e.g., from a heat gun at low setting). Consult your installer for guidance.

SECTION 11

Legal Terms and Conditions

Limitation of Warranty

This limited warranty is the sole and exclusive warranty provided by United Auto Film for its products. It covers replacement of defective product materials only, as described in Section 4 of this document. No other warranty, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, is provided unless required by applicable law.

Limitation of Liability

United Auto Film’s liability under this warranty is strictly limited to the replacement of defective film product. In no event shall United Auto Film be liable for any incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including but not limited to vehicle downtime, rental car costs, loss of use, damage to property, diminished resale value, or any other indirect losses, regardless of whether United Auto Film was advised of the possibility of such damages.

Inspection and Verification

United Auto Film reserves the right to inspect and verify all warranty claims prior to approval. This may include requiring the vehicle to be presented at an authorized dealer or inspection facility, requesting photographs or other documentation, or consulting with the original installer. Warranty determinations are made at the sole discretion of United Auto Film.

Governing Law

This warranty shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions.

Modifications

United Auto Film reserves the right to modify, update, or revise this warranty program at any time. Changes will apply to installations registered after the effective date of the revised warranty. Existing registered installations will be governed by the warranty terms in effect at the time of their registration.

Severability

If any provision of this warranty is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
